ALS

May 16, 2007 19:24

Time is running out for you to make a donation! I know some of you are just waiting towards the end to help us push past our goal... RIGHT?!? Well... there is no time like the present to make a donation.

The ALS Association, Greater Philadephia Chapter is kicking off its Annual Seaside Board...Walk to D'Feet ALS on Saturday, May 19th. I am planning to be a part of that Walk and I am asking you to join me in the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) by making a contribution in support of my Walk.

ALS is a fatal, neuromuscular disease, which attacks the motor neurons making even the simplest movements of walking, speaking and gesturing impossible. Ultimately the body becomes paralyzed, yet through it all, the mind remains unaffected.

I am walking in memory of Margaret Stillwagon, my grandmother who lost her courageous battle with this horrid disease, Christmas 2003. During her struggle with the debilitating effects of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), Mom-mom forever inspired us with her bravery and determination. It is this inspiration that leads me to continue the fight against ALS in her memory, knowing that we have the ability to help others with ALS.

The staff of the ALS Association helps families in their day-to-day struggle with ALS. They offer many crucial patient service programs, as well as fund cutting edge research worldwide. Funds raised from the Walk will support those programs.

Every ninety minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS. Please help by making a donation - large or small - to fight ALS. You may make a check payable to The ALS Association and mail your check to me at 258 Maine Street, Toms River, NJ 08753 or donate online now by making a secure credit card donation.

Love,
Amy Corbet
