A soldier, A Hero.....

The past two weeks have been an utter hell. My relationship with Renee coming to an abrupt and considerably explosive end. And plenty of other odds n' end things. But, this weekend made up for it. Me and Shannon hung out alot and I'm glad I'm getting to know her. She washed away a lot of the confusion and anger I've been letting stir inside me. I guess I just needed a change of scenery. We went for a walk around Saulters Pond on Sat. and despite the rain it was really nice. You'd be surprised how nice a seemingly sludgy pit can be if you go at the right time. Then, on Sun. I hung out with Shannon again and this time we went for a walk in the cemetery. And, it kicked up a whole lot of pain.

Now, quite a few people know this and their maybe a few don't but, three summers ago...... wow it's already been three hard to believe it..... my grandfather, the patriarch of my whole family (someone even my dad respected) passed away due to pancreas cancer. It hit the family like a runaway locamotive. We didn't even fathom it coming. None of us have fully recovered from it and to tell you the truth I don't think I'd be typing this if Jesse Muirhead, Nick Triano, and Mike McCarthy hadn't been there for me. And, my family are just starting to pick ourselves up from the tragedy.

Well, as I was saying we were walking through the cemetery I began to think alot about my grandfather and how much I missed him, about how I haven't visited his gravestone since I put a single red rose, to represent my generation of the family, on his his bland soldier grave three summers ago. It hurt alot and thinking about it now hurts more but, the funny thing is I've come to terms with it. As we walked by the soldiers' graves Shannon said to me "I don't get why they have to have such wimpy graves." and to tell the truth I get it either. We walked quite a bit and then returned to her house. Later, that night her, her ma ,and me all went bowling. It was interesting to say the least. I can definitely say that my weekend was really good. But, I think I'm gonna have to a trip to another cemetery sometime soon and pay some long due respects. Wonder who I should take?

Hope y'all have a nice day. ^_^
