Cease and Desist

This season does not seem to cease in its happy rejoicing. I first believed that after such a happy season, a low time would arrive, and for many it has. But instead, many seem to be celebrating for another reason. New years. Why one would celebrate the start of another year is beyond me. It is simply another year which I have survived and have not ( Read more... )

Makes one wonder where you'll eventually end up then.

Indeed it does seem like a mystery.
And who might you be?

I am Rufus Shinra, President of the Shin-Ra Company. And you?

Interesting.
I am known as Nooj.

Does 'Nooj' define you as a what or a who?

That is my name, my identity, my essence.

I can't say that I've ever heard of a Nooj, but it appears that I've been buried here as of late compared to those on the outside. I am pleased to meet you, Nooj.

Buried inside. Hmmm. What you have failed to experience in recent days is this "cheer" many seem to hold during Christmas and New Year's. That aside, there is not much eventful occurring in the world, aside from one rather peculiar event in the world.

Oh that. I have no interest in the masses or their foolish celebrations. The only good thing about their holiday is that they spend plenty of money on Shin-Ra products. Other than that, I would be content to lock myself in until the second when all this is over.

One peculiar event? What was that?

Indeed such is a rather pestiferous time. The day which is known as New Years shall soon come and pass and then shall we emerge from the darkness and continue our lives.

A strange shift in energy; nothing more, nothing less.

I will be glad when it is over. It's a waste of time. It's nothing more than an excuse to not work and laze about doing nothing productive.

A shift in energy? I hadn't heard about that. Then again, if it isn't in a sale report or a quarterly statement, I don't hear about it. What do you mean by this shift? What happened?

Indeed it is quite a waste of time.

You are human, are you not?

And yet the public insists on celebrating it every single year.

Hrm? Of course I am. What else would I be?

Indeed it is such a strange occurance.

Then you would perhaps not comprehend this type of energy shift.

Are you saying that you are not? Then what are you?

You have not heard of the other creatures which dwell in this land? Those who are not human yet appear to be so?
