Something I found that I like very much:
One rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main streets of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat. "Dad, I'm thinking of something." This announcement usually meant she had been pondering some fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to hear. "What are you thinking?" I asked. "The rain," she began, "is like sin, and the windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins away." After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to respond. "That's really good, Aspen." Then my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl take this revelation.? So I asked..." Do you notice how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell you?" Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with her answer: "We keep on sinning, and God just keeps on forgiving us."
You have to put up with the rain in order to see the rainbow. I just pray this storm ends sooner than later.
I also did this in the spirit of Valentine's Day [which was awhile ago, I know, but my Dad called me today wishing me a belated one.] I told him everything was fine, because if it doesn't feel over, it isn't over.
LOVE
What is your definition of love? Love is when they're the first thing you think about upon waking up in the morning, and the last before falling asleep at night. You wait for their phone call with butterflies but are completely at ease when they are around. It is two people accepting each other for who they are, as well as their faults, and still wanting to be around them as much as possible.
Is your viewpoint positive or negative? Positive.
Have you ever been in love before? Yes.
How did it feel for you? Amazing.
Have you ever experienced unrequited love? Thanks to dictionary.com, that means "thankless" and I would like to think that I haven't...
Are you very romantic? I'm quite the hopeless romantic if that counts.
Lover or a fighter? Lover when I'm with you, fighter if I want you.
Would you say you were sentimental/corny when it came to love? Probably more corny. But that's just the way I am. I guess cute would be more fitting but that's not an option.
Are you afraid of love? Yes, at times. It can be scary opening yourself up to someone else and having them not accept you for it.
Do you read love poetry? No.
What is your favourite love story? The Notebook. By far. And yes I'm talking about the book, because it's better than the movie.
Is Valentines day your favourite day of the year? Not even close.
Have you ever had your heart broken? Yes..
How many times have you been in love? Twice.
RELATIONSHIPS/DATING/ROMANCE
Do you have a significant other at the moment? [If not skip to the next section]. I think?
What is his/her name? Brandon.
How long have you been an item? 1 year, 3 months, 9 days.
Are you in love? Of course.
How much time do you spend together? Not very much at all as of late.
Where did you meet? GVSU Bowling team.
Do you see a future in your relationship? I do, he doesn't.
Insert a picture of them or describe their appearance:
Why did you fall for them? Last November when he helped me figure out who I was and what I wanted from college. He was genuinely concerned with helping me, and was so sincere about it.
Where did you go on your first date? We saw "The Notebook" and played pool in Kirkof.
What has been your favourite time with them so far? Spring break in Milwaukee, Sean's wedding, One year at the Amway.
Do you live together? No.
Do you share a bed? Did.
What do you like to do together? Cuddle, bowl, watch movies, go out to dinner- just being with him is special enough for me, regardless of what we're doing.
FOR ALL
Would you like to get married, or would you rather have fun first? Well I think I've already had my fair share of fun, so I would like to get married. Not anytime soon, but I would like to.
What is your opinion on ery? Uh, that I have no idea what it means?
Are you scared of committment or do you embrace relationships? I have some trust issues so I'm scared at first but then I embrace them after time.
Are you affectionate with your partners? Yes.
What is your definition of a perfect relationship? Being so completely comfortable with each other that you don't feel the need to get dressed up all the time, but you still do enough to let them know you like to impress them. You work through the bad times and it makes the good times and your relationship that much stronger. You laugh together over the little things and can have a completely wonderful time doing absolutely nothing.
What would it take to dump a boyfriend/girlfriend? Cheating. Other than, I'm pretty forgiving because I understand people make mistakes sometimes.
What is your partner’s best quality? His smile. I don't think I ever told him this, but he has something I like to call a "face smile." When he smiles, it's more than just his mouth doing it, his whole face lights up and his eyes sparkle. He used to smile at me like that alot.
What attracts you most to a person physically? Eyes, face. I'm not really big on looks though, I never have been. It's what's inside that counts, as cheesey as that sounds.
What turns you on? Caressing, cuddling, making out. Only with the right person of course.
What turns you off? Meatball subs. Brandon knows why.
Are you openly affectionate in public when you have a boyfriend or friend? Yes. I wasn't for awhile and used to get mad at him for affection in class, but now I just don't care. I'm in love, and I want the whole world to know it.
Well that was semi-depressing, but it felt good to do at the same time. I finished reading my psychopathology book alot sooner than I thought I would so I had some extra time. I've been feeling creative lately too so Sarah and I have been coming up with ways to let Brandon know he is special to me. I finished one of them today and plan on working on another tomorrow. I wanted to give him one of these for our one-year anniversary back in November but there was never time to do it. I don't know if I'll actually give it to him though, I might want to keep it for myself. I fell stuck, because I want to give him his space, but at the same time, I want to let him know how special he is to me to make up for all the times I didn't, before it's too late. Hmm Sarah really needs to get home from work so I can ask her opinion. Russ bought me flowers today to cheer me up from another crying episode earlier, it was very sweet of him, Sarah's really lucky and I'm glad to see her so happy, if anyone deserves it, she does. The crying episodes are becoming less frequent, which is good, I just need to keep myself from doing things that will make me cry, like going through "the box" [I did that today when I was cleaning my closet- it's a box I keep stuff in that reminds me of boyfriends and I told myself I wouldn't look at it but I did.] There was a letter in there from Brandon he had left on my desk over the summer, I think it must've been before I was going home for a little bit, and it was so precious. It made me realize how much he really did [and hopefully does still] love me which made me cry but also brought me comfort because of my new optimistic outlook of wanting this to work out. For I had been having doubts that he ever did love me to begin with [I at times think irrationally whe I'm upset] and that gave me the reassurance that he did. And therefore, if he did love me, it is easier for him to remember the good times, and what we had, rather than trying to convince him of what we could have. Ok Sarah's back so we're going to get ready now, for real. Wow I get bored easily, I wrote way more than I intended to. Have a good night!
