i started work here at Interactive Art Services yesterday. it's been good so far, since projects are only slowly trickling in. i'm enjoying being around creative people again, although the artists here aren't quite like the writers i'm used to being with. they're all nice and the workplace is a fun, laidback environment.
being here reminds me of the old pub room days at heights. my job as junior project manager is actually a lot like heading the prod staff. except i really have to nag people to work or else my boss'll kill me. hehe.
but i miss the writing community. the pencillers and the colorists are cool but it's different. their books are different from mine, among other things. and i haven't caught anyone talking about the art i'm used to: bencab, amorsolo, etc. the painters. they're mostly comic book people, as far as i know at the moment. anyway.
krip's article yesterday perked me up and brought me back down. i love reading about poetry and whatever what-nots connected to it but i felt annoyed with myself for not having written anything for quite some time now. not just because i need work for workshop submissions but because i've been neglecting my craft.
i've had only a few regrets in life and not trying out for workshops while i was still in college is one of them. i have work now and that means: 1) i may not be able to leave for workshops, and 2) i haven't even found the time or space to write.
a quote from poet
marvin bell: "Art is a way of life, not a career. "
augh. *guilt trip* i need time management, discipline and a huge dose of creative energy.
