With the album nearly complete, AbSynthe is here to give you the official track listing for Demonstration. Here to describe the structure and concept of the album is lead vocalist/guitarist Crimson Al-Khemia.
This has been quite a project that's been worked on for months, but recorded in a few short days. Our engineer, Randy, has been simply amazing with this time efficiency and creativty. Marissa, Mike E, Sage, and Half Head have all put a lot of their soul into the riffs and beats. I thank them all and love them dearly for giving up their time to be apart of something as wonderful and stressful as this.
Demonstration is, without sounding so morbid, an accumlation of pain we've individually endured within the past couple of years, but capped with a sign of hope still left that pulls us through to the next stage of our existence. The tale of local rockstar Amon Thoth, who creates a band to unify the lost generation. However, in Desdemona (City of the Devil), part of that generation, self-destructive in nature, pulls in his body and feeds off his very lifeforce. Quickly we are given a trip through a modern-day Dante's Inferno of the body with lust posing as love, and drugs substituting for care. Ghosts, nightmares, temptresses, and the archvillain "The Pharmachrist" plague our tragic and very weakened hero until he's left with three choices: seek absolution, remain in the "black nirvana", or commit suicide. The story itself is so big, that we've begun work on a script for a film that will be shot within the next year. We've already begun talent-scouting and since we are about the fans, we're letting you all take part in this project. Since there are many things said on this album we can all relate to, it would be wonderful if some peace of mind can be found by portraying a role to which one can relate.
That is in all due time, as for now we are gearing up the release of the album itself along with a series of shows with some friends of ours (Coldread, Domesticated Primates, Genitorturers, Intricate Unit, Human Factors Lab, Lunatic Candy Kreep, etc) and hopefully some new ones (Marazine, Trash Light Vision, Mongrel, Cruxshadows, Bella Morte, Still Life Decay, etc.).
Musicially, we've grown up and grown out of our own control. The album defines what AbSynthe is all about: bringing together a little bit of everything, blending and pouring back out songs of mellow-metal, synth-punk, digital-death-rock, haunting-solos, and black-techno beats. Every song's been carefully looped and layered to death filled with most extreme limits of emotions. With ripped-up rewired guitar riffs and tribalesque percussions, the lyrics and music are solutions created from our hearts and minds liquifying and drained into the child's chemistry set of a madman. There will be surprises hidden between the album and the website, which will be restored shortly. As for now, here's the tracklisting for all you to indulge. Some of you will recognize some of the songs from past performances, while other songs still remain unheard outside of the AbSynthe Laboratory. A release date will be announced shortly. Until then, Tah Tah, my Da-da's!
