it's that time of year again, and i couldn't wait to see what internet hijinx ensued this april 1st.
-the first i came across was the astounding news that the pirate bay was being taken over by warner bros! zounds!
-i then got a link to an onion article [where every day is april fool's!] about president obama has become depressed over the end of battlestar galactica. we feel your pain, mr president.
-what i really wanted to see was what think geek came up with! every year, they come up with some imaginary products that in some slightly more twisted part of our universe, could actually exist! my favorite -this year was the portal t-shirts. stuff for smart masses indeed~
-google got in on the fun with a new auto-reply feature for gmail.
-watch out for crazy shipping if you got a bag of crap from woot!
-be extra skeptical [or just laugh your ass off] at the articles on wikipedia's main page. i'm especially impressed with the museum of bad art.
-our beloved lj has even pulled a fast one on us all! because who really wants to read more than 140 characters? i find the comments between giggle-worthy and head-desky... though i do miss the "stalks/stalked by" joke of a few years ago...
if you want to create a bit of 04/01 mischief, add "&flip=1" to any youtube video and it will display upside down!
-perhaps the cruelest joke so far was that world of warcraft hasn't come up with anything yet! it's still a bit early in california, so i'll give them a little more time, i suppose. it'd be tough to beat the bard class joke of last year! those silly californians at blizzard were a little late to the party, but brought quite a gem - get ready for dance battles!
-digg threw in some randomness if you keep your eyes open

-apparently "zombie" is a racist term... i appologize to all the differently alive for any use of the zed-word that may have offended them. just don't eat my cerebral cortex, please.
