i leave for chicago tomorrow with the fam. but this isn't the type of trip i enjoy. it's the type where you say goodbye. you say goodbye dressed in black with others that are also dressed in black or any other sanctioned dark color. you walk to the front of the room where there is a box which contains the exterior shell of the person you knew, grew up admiring and loved. you stand in a line, with the other few immediate family members as person after person after person after 6700th person walks down the line, looks at you pitifully and says some form of "i am sorry for your loss. i knew your grandmother from _____________ (insert relationship)." after doing this for several hours, your brain kinda farts out and your body takes over and commands a nod and a fake half smile for each person.
on a much lighter note, today it is one year. how did it become this long? i would definately describe the year as difficult, but i wouldn't take it back. i love you.
