Cordelia had a vision.
If Wesley kept repeating that to himself then he might momentarily forget how much he disliked hospitals. He didn’t like hospitals in general, and especially this one in particular. It served as a monument to his failures. In fact, just about everything in this town did that, none more so than the girl lying in the hospital bed beside him -- a living monument to his incompetence.
Looking at her lying there without any makeup on he was struck by how young she truly was. He assumed she became a legal adult at some point during the eight months she had been here. Why hadn’t he bothered finding out when her birthday was?
Cordelia had a vision.
That was why he was here. Angel was still sleeping off the effects of the Doximall so he wasn’t in any condition to come back here. Wesley didn’t feel right with leaving Cordelia alone with Angel but after triple-checking the chains that bound him and setting up a protective ward around Angel's bedroom Wesley felt comfortable enough to make the trip to Sunnydale.
Cordelia had a vision.
Wesley found it odd that Cordelia would have a vision about Sunnydale because in the months he’d worked for Angel she had only had visions that seemed limited to L.A. and the surrounding areas. Cordelia, however, told him that Doyle once had a vision about Sunnydale and more precisely, Buffy. So, the vision had a precedent, then.
Cordelia had a vision.
Cordelia wanted to call Giles and the others, but Wesley talked her out of it. He was her Watcher and he felt he owed her something. Besides, there was bad blood between the others and the girl. True, she didn’t particularly like him but she had never hurt him before. Yes, there was the incident in the back of the Council’s van, but she was merely trying to defend herself and escape his foolish attempt at “rehabilitating” her. She even saved him from that spider in the cafeteria, right?
Wesley wasn’t too worried. After all, the girl had been in a coma for eight months, how dangerous could she be?
He was brought out of his reverie when he felt two brown eyes staring at him, intensely.
“Hello Faith.”
