HAY GUISE. i'm almost finished with the machine of death. aside from my recently-torrented folder of batman novels, what should i be reading and why?
(TMoD is very interesting. it's about a machine that accurately tells you your death. it's a collection of short stories based off that premise. they're all pretty thought-provoking, an interesting insight on the ethical/social implications of what might happen if a machine of death really did exist.)
... i'm also reading batman and philosophy: the dark knight of the soul, because i am a colossal loser ololol and batman + philosophy are like two of my favorite things. the book is actually pretty good. there's a lot of ethics, sociopsychological commentary, social philosophy, etc. etc. but all within an enjoyably nerdy frameset. like, is it ethical to keep hiring robins-- knowingly putting young boys (and one girl) at risk, for the sake of the greater good. utilitarianism vs deontology, all that good stuff.
but yes. what books have you all enjoyed recently?
edit: randomly,
a list of GLBT superheroes and their untimely deaths.
for some reason, the fact that there is a hero with gender-switching superabilities called cloud cracks me up.
