so tomorrow, australia is either getting a new prime minister, or sticking with the same, um... "backstabber", as according to some aussies!
(i'm not sure how much of aussie news becomes international, but basically our old PM, kevin rudd, was overthrown -- BY MEMBERS OF HIS OWN PARTY -- fairly recently and replaced by julia gillard, who is now running to remain the PM of australia.)
i'm not normally keen on politics, but i'm curious who see who'll win this one, haha. somehow i think gillard will win, and if voting was mandatory for me i'd probably vote for her too, but she's such an unconvincing speaker. i know it's silly to vote based on that alone, but abbott talks with conviction! gillard... reminds me of sitting in lecture halls, bored silly as lecturers droned on and on about things that supposedly were important.
... in more vacuous news, i bought a pair of shorts today. DON'T LAUGH AT ME, I'M NORMALLY VERY SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT MY LEGS. XD they fit really well though, and were SO CUTE with my boots, so i was like, FINE, I'LL FLASH A LITTLE LEG. so cute hrrrgh. i've never had cute shorts before. i normally stomp around in jeans, ahaha. i'll probably wear them around in melbourne and bikies will yell at me for going at high speeds on my scooter and not wearing anything even REMOTELY resembling protective armor.
haha, good thing i live in melb, i guess. we have hippie bikies, people who grin and nod at other bikers like we're all one big two-wheeled family. sydney has the fucking HELLS ANGELS.
