AAAAAAAAA my neighbor is so awesome, he keeps giving me free sweets. I basically have a tub of ice-cream from him, and he just popped in to give me leftover birthday cake from his friend's party. SOOOO GOOOOD and it came just after I finished a bit of
kaya's translations too, so yay!
Uhhh yeah.
kaya asked me to help her translate an article, so... here goes? Squillions and squillions of thanks to my mui mui Sonia; without her, I would still be laughing at my horrible translations (the funniest of which being the one where I translated 蚕室 as "silkworm rearing room"-- it actually does mean silkworm rearing room, but it apparently also can be translated as Jamsil, a place in Korea? Which makes a lot of sense considering that I somehow doubt that the workout coach of a Korean celebrity would be living in a silkworm room. OH GOD, not to mention me initially mis-translating "freelancer" as FREEDOM FIGHTER...)
XD; Casey, I ignored everything under point 1 'cause I think it's just credits: "translated by Demon_nomeD", and... something about it being prohibited to... well, copy the thing around I guess; it's one of those "all rights reserved" things. This is everything under point 2, with both English and Chinese so uhhh you other Chinese people on my flist can read and laugh at me I guess. And correct me if I'm wrong because I am a very crappy translator. (Apologies in advance for Chinglish.)

==============================================
Although my goal is to unceasingly and always face the challenges of exercise, this is not the final point of exercise. If you exercise, you will discover that you will broaden your horizons.
Innate Toughness
Broad shoulders, a triangular back, and strong arms with obvious veins; this is the appearance of Choi Siwon during exercise. If we return four years ago to look at the former Choi Siwon, he was 1.8m tall and weighed only 59kg, appearing very thin [if we look at him from today's perspective]. He was thin even though it was the time of the 2006 "Spring Waltz". The him of that time had soft white skin, long legs, and bright eyes; he was naturally beautiful. [Uhh Casey I rewrote that to make it sound less gay; the direct translation is kinda like: "he naturally had the image of a man as beautiful as a flower".] "Do you still remember the former me? I reckon the present me could beat two of the former me. Because I was always more mature than my actual age, at a young age I was acting the roles of adults. My stylist said that only if I had an adult's stature could I fill out those clothes, so I found a coach who was introduced to my by my friend to help me work out. It is precisely under this kind of opportunity that this kind of training started."
Fat people want to look thinner, thin people want to become a little fatter; everyone's desire, which is the hope to look a little more ordinary, is the same. However, according to Choi Siwon, his desire is not to look strong, but to honestly become strong. With will and strength, he is taking steps toward this goal. ["带着意志和实践力" directly translates as "carrying will and putting strength into practice"-- I assume that this means USING LOTS OF STRENGTH AND WILL.] As soon as they started, Li Yong Wan* was Siwon's workout coach. When thinking back to the beginning, [Coach Li] said, "In the beginning, when he first started exercising, he would do activities together as a group. Every day he would travel to and fro from Seoul to do all kinds of activities. He was really terribly busy. Originally he was playing basketball as well as learning Tae Kwon Do, so his limbs were very nimble. His physique was already not bad, but it was still the first time that he did this kind of strength training. Because he was busy and didn't have much time to learn [ie. classes/training sessions were short], there were doubts about even continuing to learn. In addition to that, I was a freelancer at the time, so there wasn't a regular location to use for training."
Actually, [Siwon] could have gone to a well-equipped gym with a cosy environment, but he still chose Coach Li, who Siwon was fated to meet. The park in front of Coach Li's house in Jamsil was the place where Choi Siwon would exercise. "If his itinerary was finished early in the morning, Siwon would hurry to Jamsil. He wouldn't feel fatigued, and he was truly very strong-willed. In the park he would work out on the horizontal bars or on the ladder wall bars to achieve his workout goal. Some people heard that there was an actor exercising in the park and would want to come over and watch; but even so Choi Siwon didn't feel that this kind of environment was inconvenient and still earnestly did what he had to do. He was very young at the time, but I really think he was very amazing." Because his itinerary wasn't determined by himself [in the sense that if he wanted less work time then he'd have less work time], the only time he could take to exercise was that which he cut off of the time he'd use to sleep.
*I have no idea what '李永万' is in Korean; 'Li Yong Wan' is his name in Chinese and so I'm using it as opposed to just calling him "that guy". XD; 'Choi Siwon' was originally 'Cui Shi Yuan' until my mui mui helped me find his original name-- if you know what this coach dude's name is in Korean, tell me and I'll edit the translations.
