Today. Was. Awesome. It was awesome firstly because I got to spend some time with crystal63 after a year of not properly meeting with her, and secondly because of Armageddon. Fuck it was amazing. I had my doubts about it because I went to Manifest (anime convention) last year, and I thought it'd be good but with the exception of chilling with the Cloud cosplayer I thought it was pretty boring. BUT ARMAGEDDON WAS-- I need a thesaurus.

BUT YEAH. We met up at 9:30 and headed over. The queue for tickets was actually surprisingly short, but that was 'cause we got there at around 10:45 and Armageddon had started at 9. I BOUGHT SO MANY COMIC BOOKS. Well, TPs. But they were so cheap. I couldn't have not bought them. And there were people cosplaying as Goku, and Superman, and... yeah, there weren't that many cosplayers, but that was 'cause it was a comic book convention, not an anime/manga convention (though there was some of the latter too). I got a Flash ring, which I am actually very pleased about because even though I am aware that it looks like ass, I have been bidding and failing on eBay for a Flash ring for weeks. Weeks. I just keep losing auctions, though that has a lot to do with me being unwilling to fork out $11 to get a goddamn plastic ring when I guessed (correctly) that I could go to Armageddon and snag it for much less. I also got a cute Batman shirt, and two cat beanies, because I couldn't resist one for myself and I suspected that Sonia would like one too. (Debs, Shoe, don't tell her I got her one, 'kay?) UM WHAT ELSE oh yeah. GUEST PANELS. Armageddon was fucking rad 'cause they actually got guest speakers, as opposed to Manifest which had... like, none. I went to the Jim Lee panel and the Crispin Freeman panel. Crispin's was awesome; Celine and I came out of it feeling really energetic and grinning hugely. His panel was all about voice acting and dubbing over Japanese cartoons, and he showed us how hard it was and what the process of voice acting entails, and God. I don't think Celine or I can ever guiltlessly diss dubs again.

And... well, I won't ramble on much more about Armageddon, but tl;dr: it was brilliant. I will most definitely go again next year. Afterwards, Celine and I went for waffles and a brownie at Max Brenner's, and then headed home.

And so here I am now. Will post up some pics if/when Celine uploads them to Facebook.

edit: THIS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF ARMAGEDDON.

... No, I'm kidding. But check out the model's face akjbfksagdHAHAHAHA.

Crispin Freeman, who I have mentally dubbed "the Ken doll of voice acting" because holy ass he is so gorgeous in a Ken doll way. The picture doesn't do him justice, but unlike the people in the Jim Lee panel, I didn't feel comfortable using Celine's camera and going FLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHFLASHLOLAREYOUBLINDYETFLASH until I had a million and one pictures I could swim naked in during schlicktime.

Celine and I. She's wearing my beanie.

Pulling faces.

I've lost the art of pouting! FAIL. ALSO CELINE WTF WHY ARE YOU SO CUTE.

There's more, but I can't be arsed to post. ALSO YOU GUYS SHOULD LET ME ADD YOU IF YOU HAVE FACEBOOK. I only ever use it to contact people but ehhhh, having more friends on my profile page really strokes my dic-- ego. Really strokes my ego.
