You know those days when you haven't gotten much sleep and can't quite shake off the blues and you're running on coffee and so you see something and suddenly the entire world is hilarious?

... Yeah. That's my day.

On the other hand, having four hours of Chinese actually isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. Our textbooks are intimidating. It's like ( Read more... )

WHY CHRIS WHY. XD

Well, she lost it to Mickey, of course. She was a shy and innocent little mouse until she met Prince Mickey. After an adventure involving some witches, a kidnapping and Mickey saving the day, they decided that they were madly in love, and thus they got married. She lost her virginity consummating that marriage, but it was really sweet and sappy and Disney-esque, with people cheering everywhere and fireworks or something. (Not that they were WATCHING, but like, it was what was happening in the background. Yeah.)

Queen Minnie? Shy and innocent? Those hardly make a comprehensible phrase. I would have thought she lost her virginity to Mickey's older, sexier, cooler, badder brother Mikey. Then she played all innocent and claimed BORN-AGAIN VIRGIN! when she and Mickey started going out.

Wait...witches and a kidnapping? What cartoon short on what Disney channel was this? Did I miss something in my childhood? O.o INQUIRING MINDS NEED TO KNOW!!!

AHAHAHA. Nah. She really was Disney-like when she was younger. Then she got old and bitter.

Throwback to old!Disney in general, m'dear. :P Disney where all the chicks were useless and were victimized by wicked witches and whatnot.

LOL I suppose menopause can do that to a woman.

Hmm, even back in the old days, Minnie wasn't nearly as helpless as the princesses. Personally, I think Disney chicks still are helpless ninnies, but now with GRRL power. See Megara for example. Despite all her "independent woman"-ness, she gets caught in Hades' traps and Hercules has to rescue her at the end cuz she's too physically weak to help herself. But it's all okay cuz Hercules gives up his immoretality to be with her. Or at least that's what Disney wants you to think.

And think about it: she's over 100 years old now. Considering her lifespan, her menopause would've lasted for AAAAAAAAAAAAAGES.

Wasn't she? I always thought b+w Minnie was a little like Olive Oyl. Then again, I've never seen b+w Minnie so what would I know.

I totally agree with you, dude. It's the same case with Jane (Tarzan), even. She doesn't SEEM like the typical damsel in distress 'cause she has tons of strong personality, but she constantly has to be saved by Tarzan. Jasmine does a bit of saving sometimes in the series, but she's usually the one being saved too. It bugs me sometimes. I don't want a sobbing, useless man, but I wouldn't mind seeing a guy being saved by a chick sometimes.

She's over a hundred? Really? Steamboat Willie came out in 1928 and Minnie came after that. So, that makes her 70-75. I think.

Yeah, I think b&w Minnie was more of a pushover. She was always "Mickey, I'm going shopping for a new bow! Meet you at dinner!" And then Mickey gets into a hilarious adventure trying to buy her flowers and get to dinner on time.

Jasmine saved people? I don't remember that. I just remember that Jafar put her in a sleazy outfit when he "wished" her into a sex slave. I know I have an obsession with Belle, but she's the only one I can think of that wasn't really "saved". Beast was her tormentor as much as her "savior".

Oh! I can think of a pretty tough woman in one Disney film, though! That cat-chick in Treasure Planet was really awesome. I loved her so much, oh my gosh. XD

I don't remember her very well. Sorry. :( I like the use of Marly for a discussion on girls. That is one huge, girly effect with his hair flip. I wonder if he wasn't originally meant to be a girl.
