STEP 2. I knew I wanted something ultra vibrant, so to bring out the underlying colors in the cap I added a Selective Coloring layer with the following settings:
STEP 3. I wanted to add some contrast as well as some earthy tones, so I added a Gradient Map layer with the default copper gradient and set that layer to Soft Light at 46%. (Thank you, fuuurs, for this trick!)

STEP 4. To add some softness and even more vibrance, I merged everything onto a new layer by pressing CTRL+Shift+E and added a Guassian Blur at around 13.0. I then set that layer to Soft Light, and to add in some cool tones and lighting added this texture by pamkips also set to Soft Light.

STEP 5. At this point I wanted to lower the brightness a tad and add some contrast, so I added a Brightness/Contrast layer as well as a Vibrance layer all the way to 100. On the Vibrance layer, I added a layer mask and masked some of her face:

STEP 6. To add even more lighting, I used this texture by innocent_lexys which I made black and white and set to Soft Light and duplicated.

STEP 7. To add even more lighting (all the lightings, tbh) I inverted and guassian blurred (at around 10) this texture by lumsx and set it to Soft Light.

STEP 8. To tone down the whites, I added another Selective Coloring layer and with White selected in the drop-down menu, pushed the Yellow around +50.

STEP 9. Almost done! Now it's time to sharpen. I merged everything onto a new layer again (by pressing CTRL+Shift+E) and then I went to Filter > Artistic > Paint Daubs with the following settings and turned that layer down to %20:

STEP 10. I wanted a little more softness and vibrance so I merged everything onto yet another layer, Guassian Blurred it at around 15.0, added a layer mask and masked around her face so that only her hair and the areas around her face were affected and set it to Soft Light.
STEP 1. This is the cap I used, for reference. Unfortunately, in the PSD I have I had merged the layers I used to prep the cap so I am not 100% sure how I did that. I am fairly certain that I just used duplicated Screen and Soft Light layers, though. And I also know that the blue wall was a little splotchy and uneven, so I took a hard brush at #0709e6 on a new layer set to Lighten and brushed over it. I turned that layer's opacity down to around %60 so that it wasn't so severe.
STEP 2. The first thing I did was take this texture by lumsx and added a Guassian Blur at 13.0. I set it to Soft Light and duplicated it twice.

STEP 3. I then took this texture by lookslikerain, set it to Soft Light and masked it around the left-hand side and over Jesse.

STEP 4. I then added this texture by endearest, Guassian Blurred it at 13.0 and set it to Screen while lowering the opacity of that layer to 68%.

STEP 5. I then merged everything onto a new layer, Guassian Blurred at around 3.0 and set it to Soft Light.

STEP 6. To add some lighting I added a black and white Gradient Fill layer at 150.63 degrees and set it to Soft Light. I also merged everything onto a new layer, went to Filter > Artistic > Paint Daubs with the following settings and turned that layer down to %10:
[Tutorial 09: Allison from Teen Wolf] STEP 1. This is the cap I used, for reference. I cropped it down to size and added a black background and flattened the image. To brighten the whites and deepen the blacks, I duplicated the base and set it to Screen and then duplicated that layer four times. Four times! I duplicated it once more and switched it to Soft Light, which made it a tad too dark so I again duplicated this and switched it to Screen.

STEP 2. I knew I wanted this to be somewhat negative space, so I merged everything onto a new layer by pressing CTRL+Shift+E, filled a brand new layer with black and pushed that layer below the merged layer. I then added a layer mask to the merged layer and brushed around Allison, like so:

STEP 3. I then added a new Gradient Map layer with #07001c and #b9fbfc as the colors.

STEP 4. Gradient maps can sometimes make an icon look flat, so to deepen the shadows and give it some lighting I added this texture by innocent_lexys which I turned black and white and set to Soft Light.

STEP 5. Here is where I started going crazy with the textures. I added this texture by (unknown, let me know if you know!) set to Screen at 73%. It made Allison look a bit too foggy at the top, so I added a layer mask and softly brushed the top.

STEP 6. I then added this texture by (unknown, let me know if you know!) set to Screen and masked over Allison.
STEP 1. I used this cap and this cap, for reference. The first thing I did was take the first cap and crop it down to size as well as nudge it towards the top of the canvas. I then duplicated that layer and set it to Screen, added a Vibrance layer at 100 and finally added a Gradient Map with #556270 and #cff09e for the colors and set it to Soft Light.

STEP 2. I then filled the very background layer with black and took the Marquee Tool and selected the little chunk of the back of her typewriter and pasted it several times vertically down the icon. To make it smooth, I simply took a small, round hard brush and smudged everything downward.

STEP 3. The left side of the typewriter is a little thick and asymmetrical, so I added a new layer and took a 1px round brush and colored a tiny stright line down the side of it using the dark green color of the background.

STEP 4. It's now time to prep the other cap! I cropped it down to size, duplicated it and set it to Screen and then cut off the unwanted part of the cap on the right and pasted it onto the other cap.

STEP 5. I then set that layer to Screen, duplicated it and set it to Soft Light and added a layer mask and masked over the right side and part of the middle.

STEP 6. I then added a Gradient Map with #0e0609 and #d1f0de as the colors, set it to Soft Light and duplicated it once.

STEP 7. I wanted it to look a little more aged and also add some earthy tones, so I added this texture by unknown (let me know if you know!) and set it to Screen, then duplicated it and set it to Soft Light.

STEP 8. I wanted the icon a little brighter, so I merged everything onto a new layer by pressing CTRL+Shift+E and setting it to Screen. I added a layer mask to this layer and masked the bottom middle.

STEP 9. Time to sharpen! I merged everything onto a new layer again (by pressing CTRL+Shift+E) and then I went to Filter > Artistic > Paint Daubs with the following settings and turned that layer down to %10:

STEP 10. Finally, since some of the edges were looking a teensy bit jagged, I merged everything onto yet another new layer and took a 2px hard/round brush and the Smudge tool at 22% strength and gently smudged around the edges.
