(no subject)
so today is the first day of school for all of us happy UT students. i both like and hate the first day. i like the excitement, the optimism of "ooh i bet this class will be fun". but then you have the massive crowds of people on the sidewalks and the buses, and you shall never see the majority of them again because this will be one of the few times that they'll bother to come to class.
the bus was late today, making me late to my first class. radio fundamentals seems like it'll be fun as well as useful. the teacher doesn't seem to expect us to know anything, which is refreshing after a lot of rtf professors with a sink or swim attitude. she seems to be willing to teach and help us...somewhat of a rarity. who knows? after listening to so much npr, i think i'd be interested in looking into the technical aspects of radio as a career choice. i know dj's make squat, but perhaps someone able to edit audio would be more valuable.
that's pretty much why i'm not going to bother applying for any internships or jobs this semester. i want to take some time to realize what it is i want to do, rather than flounder for a bit longer. then i can start working towards that goal. blah blah blah.
i need a back rub. my shoulders are ridiculously tight after carrying heavy groceries, cat food, and cat litter around all day yesterday. but yesterday was good, sans the semi-heavy lifting. pancakes and kung fu hustle with the paul, and then swimming with steph and jen before going to CiCi's for some sweet buffet value with dez, daniel, tim, jenny, paul, stephanie, jen, darrell, and amber. and i got paul some kickin' rad bling out of a gumball machine-- a plastic silver dollar sign on a chain. i think it needs to be a part of his next facebook picture.
