I'm in London. I've been walking my soles off and exhausting the rails of the Underground - I'm the powerwalking Historian, I guess. My favorite part of the city of London is how I recognize street names and monuments even if I've never been there before. One quiet and cold day, after visiting St. Paul's, I walked past Old Bailey without even realizing it at first. Later in the hour, I found myself walking on Fleet Street (which actually does have a barbershop).
Today I think I'll go see if the Apsley House is open, go see the Chelsea Hospital (I mean, I never made it there in my past lives, now, did I?) and have a drink at that pub near where the Tyburn gallows used to be.
Tomorrow I leave for Halifax and West Yorkshire in general.
I'm sorry this is so incoherent - I haven't had time to collect my thoughts yet
