Dear Mr Sendak,
I suppose it's silly of me to be so very upset at you being gone now, as I didn't even know until you were gone that you had still been here. I can't help but feel that if I had known I somehow would have tried harder to meet you and thank you for all the words that you wrote.
Since I no longer have even the possibility of taking that chance, I'll write to you here, and hope that somehow you know how very much your stories meant to me.
I am sure you are having a lovely experience now at the Castle Yonder. So I'll leave you to it.
