Daein -- Daein flooded their own land to slow us down? How could they even think about doing something like that?!

[[6% spent -- 3% on Chapter 18, but he doesn't find it worth mentioning right now, and 3% on Chapter 20. 76% total; 2% remaining.]]

What else do you remember about Daein? Does something like this really surprise you?

I'd say no, but...this was their own country.

People aren't all built like you. They see an advantage, they can take it, so long as they're unaffected themselves. What's another person's suffering mean to them?

Maybe so, but... There's no way the entire Daein army is like that.

Doesn't matter. Soldiers obey orders, and whoever's behind those obviously doesn't care.

...Shinon. When you were with Daein, did you run into any officers that seemed like the type to do that?

My commander was an ugly dolt called Kayachey, but he took orders from a woman named Petrine. Never met her, but I heard grumbling from the soldiers, and not many kind words. She might fit the bill.

A woman named Petrine, huh... That sounds familiar to me.

They called her one of the "Four Riders." Maybe you know what that means.
