Daein -- Daein flooded their own land to slow us down? How could they even think about doing something like that?!

[[6% spent -- 3% on Chapter 18, but he doesn't find it worth mentioning right now, and 3% on Chapter 20. 76% total; 2% remaining.]]

Guess they were desperate.

You okay?

...Yeah. I'm fine.

I wish I could say the same about the villagers, though.

Yeah. Right.

You're a bad liar, you know that?

Urk, going to have to get off soon. ^^;; I'll be back in a few hours. carries_a_bell January 10 2010, 20:42:57 UTC
It bothers you. The fact that all those people died, and you couldn't do anything.

......

...It's not just that. It's going to make life hell for the people who did survive. The region we were in was mountainous, but there was farmland. But because of the flood...that farmland is ruined.

They're alive. They'll at least have a chance to keep trying.

If they can survive the winter. The winters here are nothing compared to what Daein gets hit with.

I think that's the purpose of cooperation. You know, everyone pools their strength to help each other out? [Sheena's voice is dry.]

...Right.

Actually, there's a saying from my homeland. "No matter how hard the winter, spring will always follow." That pretty much applies to those people.

See? It'll be fine.

Besides, if it bothers you that much, go help them out when you get back home.

I imagine Princess Elincia will make sure they do all right. We took Daein in a later battle, which means Daein will be under her control once the war ends.

And we were lucky -- before that we stumbled upon a huge cache of gold. We distributed some of the gold to the people.

So why are you so upset? They'll be fine and... well, you weren't the ones who killed all those other people in the flooding. Don't blame yourself for something that wasn't your fault.
