Wow! It's definately been a while. Lots of stuff going on with France. I would start from the beginning but that's just too much to write. First, Carl and I landed, he stayed for a week to move me in and then we partied around Paris and Bourges for a few days. It was good fun but my french was awful. Then, started teaching... whoa, that went REAL well the first couple of weeks, well not exactly. I'm sure the kids were wondering if I even knew what the hell I was doing. Nowadays, I'm getting better, I think. The key is to go REAL slow with them, real slow.
Two months later and I've got a great bunch of friends out here. All of them are assistants as well, we all go out and get drunk and get labeled as the crazy americans in the bars and clubs! We have fun, but not too much fun. The clubs here are cool, some are free and some are not. They play lots of techno, mostly all english music and it's great fun.
I like living in France, everybody seems so happy here. This weekend the had the cutest xmas village where you can buy spiced wine and heated chestnuts. It was so cute! And they just turned on all the Xmas lights down our street, you can definately tell that people are in the holiday spirit. They aren't as rude as they used to be, although maybe they are used to us by now. The staring has dwindled down as well. They finally get that we live here too and yes, we speak english!
I go to alot of houses for dinner here, that was never the case in the states. The French really value dinner and conversation. I love that idea, it's not always centered around fast food and watching tv. Dinner is great, to have everyone come together and chat about their day and eat! Mmm I love to eat, maybe a little too much. I'm gonna have to start eating more salads.
Got a haircut yesterday at a french salon! I was so proud of my french, the guy did exactly what I wanted him to do! My french is getting better definately and I'm glad, it's about time!!
Booked my flight to Glasgow for New Years! Leaving last minute on the 31st of December from Paris. I can't wait!
That's all for now.
