This is freaking beautiful and atmospheric and perfect.
I love how the mood is so soft and sweet.
And this line

Claire stood out in the rain, tracked bare footprints through the house, twirled in a circle in the middle of the empty living room.

as it was already said, this is a fic with a mood and it's absolutely delicious. I also love the idea that Claire knew Sawyer would follow, because he wouldn't let her go by herself but ends up loving it, there in the middle of nowhere, too.

Aw, well I'm glad to remind you of that. They are fun to write and I haven't really in a long time.

I'm thinking of making up a "choose your own adventure" continuation of this. In that, "this is what could have happened, but not necessarily" kind of way.

I love this AU couple, and you wrote them so beautifully-the atmosphere of the piece is so amazing, and I love the way you wrote them as a couple and portrayed their life together.
