I am pleased to report that I have made it through my first week of the new school year- I'm team teaching in 2nd grade, and although the week definitely had some rocky parts, overall, it got better and better each day, and my confidence is slowly coming back. (It's hard to jump grades- the expectations are so different- sometime I guess too high, sometimes too low...) And, equally impressive for me, I did not actually fall over this week while teaching. I tripped several times, (we have a free-standing whiteboard, so it's got those legs that stick out) I moved a lot of stuff, so my legs are basically 2 giant bruises, (I'm thinking of just having a pedicure to match them before Tuesday's Open House Night)and I did crash into at least 8 different things, but at least I stayed upright.

In reflection- Perhaps I need to reevaluate how I view my accident-prone skills. I didn't fall over, but I crashed into things, my legs are basically black and purple, and it's in the 90s or higher here, so pants aren't really a great option- especially having afternoon recess duty. But, my teaching partner, Jean, has learned that I was serious about my ability to crash into things, and has since stopped moving furniture in the classroom without informing me. That's helped a lot.
