Ok, let me try to think of everything fun... if you have questions or want more information about any of them, let me know.
San Juan Island (SUCH a nice ferry ride to get there... this would be at least a full-day excursion)
Seattle's many beautiful parks (I recommend Golden Gardens, Volunteer Park, Gasworks Park, Discovery Park, and Green Lake)
the Ballard Locks (just down the street from Golden Gardens)
Archie McPhee's (just down the street from the Ballard Locks... a crazy store)
Pike Place Market (duh)
Woodland Park Zoo (a pretty good zoo)
Alaskan Way piers (very touristy, but still fun)
Alki Beach (good place for walking/rollerblading, going to a restaurant, and catching a great view of downtown across the bay)
Wineries & Breweries (mostly out in 'burbs like Woodinville... sometimes Chateau Ste. Michelle has concerts)
the apartment from 'Singles' (just kidding)
Broadway in Capitol Hill (trendy/sleazy shopping, bars, and good people-watching)
As for Vancouver, I've only been there once, briefly, and I think I missed all the good stuff. Granville Island is supposed to be cool. I've heard great things about Vancouver in general.
Given all the time taken up by my conference. I only got to go to the Space Needle and eat at 13 Coins. Still, it was a great place to visit and I look forward to seeing it properly in the future.
