I've finally come back to reading
Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World, which is quite a fascinating and not too burdensome of a read. Yes, I was distracted away from it by some tawdry thrillers -- spy novels and the like-- but I swear baby, I'm coming back to you! Ahem... anyway, the book sheds new light on what the ruler was really like and the legacy of civilization he left to the world. I recommend it.
In conjunction with my finishing this book, I was guided along another path of inquiry by
elspethkat regarding the famed Mongol and DNA. Apparently, a restaurant in London will let people
eat for free provided they can demonstrate through a DNA test that they carry around the long-dead ruler's genes. Such a person might not be that difficult to find as apparently ol' Genghis was quite...
prolific.
In other news, dolphins off the coast of Australia are
wearing sponges on their noses.
