I was at uni from 1994 to 1997 for my BA and then another year for my MSc. I took a year out before uni (so if you want you can work out how old I am).
I studied environmental sciences, broadly speaking. I remember the "theory" of global warming, how we could "prevent" it and read of the "nightmare" scenario of a 2C temperature rise at the equator (which would have translated to a 6C rise at the Poles - to put that in perspective, the last time the average global temp was that high, there was near-tropical rainforest here in Wales).
These days - it's the FACT (and it IS a fact people, regardless of how much impact Humankind is having: just look at any weather programme or pattern) of global temperature rise; it's climate chaos; it's how we can adapt to the temperature rises we are already committed to because of the pollution of previous decades and if we're LUCKY we'll see "only" a global average of nerly 3C rise.
God help anyone living up to about 10m above current sea levels. In winter storms, the sea can already come up over the coastal wall down on Swansea sea front.
So - on Saturday 28th March, at 8.30 (local time) - please, please PLEASE Vote Earth.
Or the 21st century really will be when everything changes - in a really REALLY bad way as our coastlines dissapear and entire countries vanish under the waves.
Just one hour. Not that much is it?
