I thought i'd give an update from the lives of the newlyweds.
What an amazing two weeks this has been. It's really hard to fathom that its possible to pour so much time and thought and prayers into one day for it to zoom by you so fast. I think back to two weeks ago about this time. I was in Tallahassee doing tons of last minute things to be ready for the wedding. My stress levels were through the roof, and I had no idea how it would all come together, even if it would at all. Out of nowhere though...friends and family just started showing up, helping and decorating in everyway possible, and by Saturday morning, I actually believed that we might actually be able to pull it off =).
That day, my wedding day!!! I felt completely different than I thought I would. I got dressed anxiuosly, with all my lovely ladies in there laughing and helping me with all the million things I had to put on. I wasn't so nervous about getting married (I WAS EXCITED ABOUT THAT), My fear was that I would trip...haha. So I gobbled down some last minute applesauce, fixed the hair and then my mother, grandmother, aunt, friends and family (all beautiful women) surrounded me and filled the room with prayers and exhortation that completely lifted the anxiousness from my heart. A spirit of peace and overwhelming joy filled inside of me as I realized that in 15 minutes I'd be walking down an aisle to join with my best friend for life.
The ceremony was wonderful and beautiful. I remember walking down the aisle saying over and over again in my head. "Just look at Amick, DON'T TRIP, Just look at Amick, DON'T TRIP." With my father on my arm, I walked down the aisle... amazed at all the wonderful people that had come to celebrate with us. From that moment on, everything just seems to be a blur. It was like 4 hours was crammed into about a 20 minute time span. No matter how fast it went by though....It was by far the most wonderful and beautiful day of my life.
The honeymoon was exactly what we needed, it was so wonderful to just relax and rest and have fun for a week...not worrying about anything.
We got back to Pensacola last Sunday. We've been packing and unpacking frantically for the past 4 days. We are ready to just be settled in. Our apartment is tiny, but hopefully there is enough love between us to make it seem bigger =) haha. The Lord knows me well, and knew to bring us an apartment with an attic....I never knew two people could have so much junk. We have the comfiest bed ever, and its weird because every night I still feel like I have to get in my car and go home, BUT I DONT!!! WOO HOO, its like a never ending slumber party with my best friend.
We are lovin every second of it.
We are back at work, and have been blessed tremendously with good news on both ends. I am now an official employee at HatchMott Macdonald (no more temp work)....so I got an increase in pay plus a good benefits package for Amick and I. The best news is that we found out yesterday that Amick got a wonderful job. One that we've been hoping and praying for. His last day at Pest Control is Friday and on Monday he starts his new job at All Pro Sound, a company that provides audio/visual/lighting products for churches, theatres etc. Anyways, the position he is in will allow him to work directly with the owners of the company and be able to utilize his graphic design skills on different project presentations. Financially... this job is a HUGE blessing for us, and there is tremendous room for Amick to move up especially with his talents and skills. Please continue to pray for us, that we will only go where God is opening doors.
We are anxiously waiting to get plugged in at Liberty Church, and hopefully join a small group with some other young couples. yee haw
Please keep in touch, and let us know your updates too....we love you.
