Damn it's been a while
I can't believe it but I've been busier since I retired! I'm still doing the great job hunt. I could have been employed by now but I made a pretty big decision, I want out of the Defense industry. That's right, I turned down the job at my last command (for those of you that know my folks THEY DO NOT KNOW THIS!!). I came to the conclusion that I had to finally listen to my Jimminy Cricket. So it makes things a little harder but Cretebunny has been uber supportive and had the foresight to give me a little financial breathing room, I'm a lucky boy. I've had some interviews with a couple of companies up in NJ. One took someone else but is passing my info to another division and the other is still trying to figure out what they're going to do.
Outside the job hunt we went up to my Aunt's place last weekend for a family reunion. It went much as you'd expect but it had some fun bits. I managed not to cause a huge blow up with my Mom's best friend after she sent this dumb-ass email that tells a 'why English should be the official language' story then wants you to sign a 'no free services without citizenship' petition. It got my hair up a bit (in combo with the other stress Cretebunny said I was shaking) but I held back on my reply. The response I got back was equally moronic and insulting so I had to expand a bit...I decided not to post it since it's 4 pages, got to be complete. That ended it.
Wow, this sounds like a lot of blah but things really aren't that bad. The not knowing sucks but we're managing to have a bit of fun such as a roller derby Sun night. Hope everyone's having fun.
