Hey everyone,
Today Shama is going in for massive surgery, so if you could keep your fingers and paws crossed for her to get through ok and heal quick.
Basically, genetically from the hips down she is rather messed up. Today they are only working on the leg that is going lame. They are having to reattach muscle points (moving a muscle attachment from her hip to her femus), break her femur to straighten it out, and basically have to competely rebuild her knee. She has a torn muscle in there that is causing the knee to tibia to fall foward when she tries to step. So they fixing the muscle tear and then adding prostestics to the knee. They are keeping her overnight, so I get a whole 2 days to worry. But at least by doing this we won't have to put her down, and it should slow the degenration in her hips for a bit.
Add to this that M is up in DC at a hiring conference and I'm 5 days into quitting smoking, so I think M is happy that he isn't here. Well, he will be home tonight, thankfully.
I think I'm going to be spending most of the day cuddling Guinness on the couch.
