Fun fun in Crete!
I met my first Crete's that were actually american at heart. Sitting at the doc's office when this very lovely older couple walk in and start chatting. However, they are speaking rapid Greek which I only speak very little. So we just keep saying "signomi (sorry,) we don't speak much Greek." And so they started speaking slower and louder. Took all self-control not to bust out laughing. hehehe Highly amused. Also this morning, after almost a year, finally hit side mirrors while driving. Thankfully no damage to either car, but I was so buzy trying to avoid hitting the truck that had stopped in my lane while someone else coming the other way was trying to avoid the car parked on his side of the street that I dodged a bit too much. OOPS. I love/hate driving here. It's scary as shit but what an rush. People tend to stop whenever or whereever they want. The road I was describing before was only a 2 lane road! But add parked cars on each side, trucks, and lots of traffic. Whoohoo.
