The hell? A second September update?

Well, I'm writing this while I take a quick break from loading the U-Haul, just thought that since we somehow still have net here at the Gilmer house I might as well keep y'all up to the moment. We were in Austin from Tuesday to Friday, we came back last night and picked the U-Haul up this morning. We got the apartment and spent the rest of the time putting out job applications. As an afterthought we dropped by one of the other Austin PetsMarts to see if they were willing to transfer us, even though we got thouroughly snubbed at the first one. (Gotta love that company fellowship. 'Go team go. Unless you're from East Texas. Then you can suck it.')
Here's where it got interesting. It was 'my turn' to go in to the place. (We were taking turns, one of us watches the kids, the other gets an application.) I talked to the Ops manager and she was pretty excited that she had an experienced bather wanting in. So much so that she told me to definitely call back the next morning, since the store manager was gone for the afternoon. So next morning, Becca calls and talks to him... and shock of shocks, not only does he want her... but he wants both of us. Even though they 'don't do that' in Austin. So yeah. Even said that if things pan out well, we might have an eye in for full time soon. So yeah. Definitely gonna have steady internet I think, by the end of the week. We'll actually be able to help pay our own bills right from the start. Should ease tensions with the mother-in-law hugely. Plus Becca's record means she's likely to be the first person they toss at grooming school once -any- Austin store needs a new groomer. And that grooming job'd probably net at least half again what we make between the two of us right now. Translation - I find a good job next semester, one with real wages that'll take me part time for 25 ~ 30 hours a week and I'll probably be back to school full time.

Things are most definitely looking up. Thanks for all the encouragement, folks. It's helped when things were bleak.

- Justin
