Halloween Sewing Plan....
I've decided I"m going to do several outfits as usual for halloween.
1. a work outfit - black and orange, halloween themed, to go with my black underbust corset. This breaks down into: a.) a circle skirt, with a possibly slight train, which i may or may not wear with my orange crinoline, b.) bloomers, c.) a crop jacket and possibly d.) a blouse
2. a gibson-girl inspired halloween themed dress for my "vampire" look. This will probably also be in orange and black, so that i clash amazingly with taryn's purple circa 18th century coat. this will consist of a) a black corset cover and petticoat b.) a black lace blouse c.)a boned belt d.) a flowy trained lace skirt possibly orange and black or possible a solid black skirt with removable orange panels. I will probably need to aquire a wig and perhaps a hat as well for this ensemble, or at least some sort of head decor. the corset cover may double as my shirt for the work out fit and the bloomers will probably get worn for this too. I'll probably also wear this to see the silent film at the IU auditorium. (can we say costume contest?)
3. the mad hatter - perhaps at axis in zombie form. no new things required, just some makeup effects and possibly some green chucks.
4. i need to scrounge up another Magenta costume for Rocky. Worst comes to worst i'll hit up goodwill for a knit black dress and make up an apron. Thankfully riff's not that hard, and Taryn desperately wants a tux jacket. if she has one by then i can faux-distress it pretty easily and she's set.
5.I also need to finish taryn's outfit which entails trimming out the jacket the rest of the way which will require some time but i can do handwork in while watchign movies and stuff so no big deal. I also need to make/find a vest, knickers of some kind (preferably velvet to match the coat) and a jabot. We need to find her some appropriate shoes (with buckles!), and we both need teeth. I'll probably hit up the crappy hot topic ones, closer to halloween.
so my to sew list looks like this, after I finish Libby's coat:

6. boned belt (possible reversible)

8. black lace trained skirt

10. possible orange overskirt

12. Embellish Taryn's coat
13. taryn's knickers
14. taryn's jabot
15. possible vest for Taryn
Luckily I have the fabric for all of this stuff, and it'll all look good in my custom portfolio.
The shopping list is thankfully short and sweet:
must buys: 2 sets vampire teeth, shoes for taryn (she's got tiny feet so we can probably find something on uber sale)
possibles: magenta dress, green chucks, tux jacket, poofy shirt
so yeah, if i seem to be dead after we move it's just cause i'm locked in my sewing room and i need liberating.
