this is a shameless plug. :>
For all you people that deal with teaching kids any sort of science-y things, grades 2-12-ish, you should check out
The Solar Center. it's an educational site (set up and run by my mom, teeee, <3), based out of stanford university, that has a fun section of activities for teaching kids of various ages about the sun. they have activities and information relating to the physics of it, our observations of it, as well as info and/or activities about solar
music, art, folklore, etc.
For instance, they send out free posters (well, $7 shipping for 45 posters) that let you build your own
Spectroscopes.
and tons and tons of posters.
for all you scientist-type peoples, you can check out
MDI, the project my dad has been running pretty much since i was born. (they started work on the proposal the year i was born, heh). don't be put off by the website - they just got better things to do than make a flashy site for it. :>
(other projects run or influenced by my dad can be found
here, including the Wilcox Solar Observatory)
