bare your heart for all to see

I went to see VNV Nation live at the Carling Academy, Islington, and now I can't listen to their music (especially Chrome) without wanting to jump around again. XD Rocking out to Ronan's music while he sang to me not a metre away was absolutely awesome. Oh, and he performed Further too, which made we want to remind a certain someone of the inferiority of any LifeForce (I think that's their name?) remake. But she didn't come, so her loss.
Wow I'm still on this high...

Songs that were especially fun crazy to dance to: Chrome, Electronaut, Testament, Joy, Kingdom, Epicentre, Fearless, Nemesis.
Kloq were alright, too =) Not as good as VNV Nation, but they had a glowy guitar and a thumping beat. One of the guys I was with couldn't understand why the audience was applauding the "technician", which made me laugh. I laughed lots.

We four were the only people wearing any colour though :/ Everyone else was in Gothic dress, and one lady actually came up to us to question us on our choice of clothing: "Who are you coming to see? You look different from the rest of us. Where'd you hear of VNV from? I think it's great that different kinds of people are getting into VNV Nation..."
At the time we were making origami cranes out of the flyers someone had handed us earlier...

Anyway, this same lady turned out to be the one selling the t-shirts (yes, I did buy one partly to fit in =P) and later, after the show, we passed her stall and I said goodbye to her. She liked it that I was "spreading the word"--the people I came with hadn't heard of VNV before--and she said she'd been watching me dance and she wanted to give me a Judgement preorder promo CD signed by Ronan and Mark. =D Just before they left the stage (for good), Mark came down to the front and was slapping hands with the fans. So my friends pushed me forward and Ronan grabbed my hand. \o/

Aaaand I had ice cream when we got back home.
