i can tell you one thing. when i went to dc...it was a pain to get a hotel in the city if you are driving. you should just suck it up and get one in a suburb and ride the metro because it pretty much goes everywhere and is open until 3 am. the prices on hotels were CRAZY and parking was even more ridiculous, we ended up staying in springfield and riding the metro. it was like ten bucks for an all day unlimited pass.

We're planning on getting there around noon and being there for lunch, walking around, and late dinner, then heading to New Jersey that night. We want to avoid hotels if possible since we have a free place to stay. But we'll look into the metro because I know we'll get lost if we try to drive, or maybe we'll just park and walk. Thanks... was there anywhere really good to eat or see that you liked?

you should go to i think its U street. its sorta like little five pointish. The historical landmarks are ilke, 5 miles worth of walking. The smithsonian closes at 5 so you might want to go see that.
