well maybe he did mean itkallielizJune 25 2009, 03:27:30 UTC
Sure he wanted the drugs but that doesn't mean that he didn't mean it when he said "I love you"; I could tell by how his voice sounded and the way he looked at Ellie.
Maybe you think that at first Ellie wasn't being "smart" but it makes sense that, loving Craig as much as she does, she would unconsciously pretend that the drugs are Manny's, but do you really think that she doesn't know they are Craig's? The tone in which she insists they are Manny's reveal that she is overcompensating - the more she says they are Manny's, then maybe they will be Manny's. It's not "smart" or "stupid", its just a reaction that fits with Ellie's history of always avoiding the truth through some coping mechanism (originally, cutting).
At this point I don't give a shit if the stupid producers put them together (yeah, I want them to, but does it make a difference?) because they are soul mates and end up together NO MATTER WHAT PATH THE PRODUCERS TAKE. They are the only ones who can understand each other (Ellie's cutting, Craig's bipolar and drugs) and "live outside of the box". It is like in one episode where someone said to Kaitlin, "You choose your own real world" or something like that. That is why Craig and Ellie need each other and are destined to be together. Opposites do NOT attract. Ashley is this perfect, Lana lang-esque character who conforms to society's expectations and espects everything to be neat and tidy and fit into the box and all of the little rules and she couldn't be with Craig, not and both of them still be really trully happy. I don't know about Manny, but somehow I suspect that although she may accept Craig for who he is, she would not be able to handle him. She is naive in the way that she always wants everything exactly how she wants it, but you can't get everything you want. And face it, Craig was never in love with Manny, he was just attracted to her. Simply platonic. I think he chose Manny first because he was afraid of real love, afraid of losing it, and if he chose Ellie and lost her then he would never get her back. Good things, you need to wait for.
Personally I think once they are finally together it will be that much stronger because they had to wait and they know what it is like to be with out each other. But unlike Ashley or Manny, Ellie would never run at the first sign of trouble. I was DISGUSTED with Ashley for abandoning Craig to London after telling him that she would always be there for him - it was so obvious that she left because of his bipolar. UGH I HATE ASHLEY!
