It's been a long time...
Greetings my friends of old and new. It has been a long time since my last post, and I figured I would fill everyone in. Tomorrow will be 9 months for me and Kat. Life is good, and I'm going to win the lottery soon. Everyone of my friends get some, you know who you are. The English assingment on a poet inspired me to write a poem. The first poem here is my own original work, and the second is a poem that I thought was just soooooooooo good. Enjoy.
That Which Should Not Be
Time is of a human kind
Brought to us by our mind
With which the universe we bind
Our limitations we exceed
On other races we do feed
In our vanity and our greed
But Death stalks us all the same
In this life which is but a game
Since beating it is our aim
The point to most is meaningless
Destroying our world to excess
Leaving ourselves to clean the mess
But what we call humanity
Will lead to my insanity
And cause the world's fatality
Nature should fix this reality
The Adept (initiate, part ii)
"I have walked the paths; the shadowed roads
that led to terror's breast. I have plumbed the depths of
Hatred's womb and scaled Destruction's Crest.
For every secret left unveiled, for every power learned,
I'd sell the remnants of my soul, regardless how it burned
And still I sought a higher wisdom few could have attained.
'Though I found it, it would leave me - broken, damned and drained.
For now I find this power gained is more unto a curse.
My spirit burns with every spell and each irreverent verse.
Despite this strength and knowledge earned, I have paid a heavy toll.
Never should've traded power for my own immortal soul."
