As much as his insides were buzzing

But when the door opened, and she looked up to see her Dad, worn out but smiling. She couldn't help but jump up and run to him, hugging him tight as she buried her face in his chest.
"Dad! They did it. You're..." She couldn't even form another coherent sentence.

She would have to see that they left soon to go somewhere safer. The plans for that were already set in motion though.
For now she could just enjoy the moment quietly with them.

He was somber-faced as they came home and found Candy and Harrison, standing next to Elektra close enough to touch.

And unwillingly she let's go. But only long enough to pick Harrison up now and bring him over to see Dexter. "I think someone else has missed you too."

A big grin took over his face as he picked up the infant and spun him over his shoulder. "Hey buddy. You have fun with Candy?" Harrison gave some happy cooing as a response, and Dexter felt a warmth. Almost.. a belonging.

Elektra reached out and took Bruce's hand to signal she'd take care of it. She knew living life on the run must have made him especially jumpy about their current situation. She turned her head and gave an order to a maid in Grecian to grab the bags she had them set up earlier.

He hadn't seen his brother in even longer than that, though, not to mention Candy and Harrison. It was a strange sort of blessing to get to see them now, in these circumstances. Bruce had become inured to crises, by regular adaptation and on purpose for keeping his heart rate low, so it meant that he stood there and squeezed his wife's hand back and otherwise let them talk.

"Candy, get the carseat," he said softly, but firmly, bending to pick up the bags with his free arm.

[Okay so, Gale is actually here. He just hasn't revealed himself yet. So where was he exactly? Hiding out in the bathroom and pretending he was prettying himself up for the visitor. He's got to make himself look presentable for the father of his girlfriend after all, right? Working down a coal mine every day makes the stains hard work to get out of his skin after a while.
Truth was, Gale was nervous about meeting Dexter. About interfering with the family reunion when really he was just a friend of the family. At least that's the way he looked at it. He had to make himself known eventually though, preferably before they'd all gone out the door, so finally he let himself out and sauntered over to them trying to remain as casual as possible.
He offered a smile. One which faded slightly when he realised how bad his timing had been.]
Hey, did I... miss something? You're not leaving already are you?

Gale had already stepped out into the living room by the time she had returned with the seat. "Oh yeah..." Just going to take Gale's hand now.
"Umm, Dad. This is Gale. My boyfriend."

She allowed introductions to go through before reluctantly letting go of Bruce's hand to fish something out of her pocket; one very old key. "Gale as much as I love your visits we're on a tight schedule here." She stepped over to hold out a key for Dexter. "This is for you. Everything that this key opens is free for you to use except for the white room. I want you to lock that up the moment arrive and trust me you'll know which room it is when you find it."

And stared. Harrison giggled, reaching out for Gale, but he was a bit too far away to do any damage.
"So. You're Gale." After a beat, he remembered to hold out his hand. "I'm Dexter, the step-dad."

He couldn't help but smile as Harrison giggled and reached out for him but it was the man holding the child he was here to really see this time and from the way things were going he had better hurry up with the introductions. Slightly unnerved by Dexter's staring, especially with memories flashing up of what he had witnessed on the community, Gale took his hand a little tentatively and shook it, making a point to meet his eyes.] Nice to meet you. Uh, are you taking a holiday?

None of it was actually a lie, which let him look almost painfully sincere even as he apologized.
