The year in books: January

Okay, I was thinking hard about what to start this review thing with and then I thought what-the-hell-ever. Let's start with sex.
So, this one is about the last three sex novels I read. I don't usually read pwp novels, and now I remembered why again. I prefer 70% more story.

let's talk about sex baby...lalala )

Oh I like that project of yours! What would our world be without books? And it's always nice to get some recs... I'm all for gay romance for next month since I don't read horror. :D And whatever a girl needs to do to get some good poly-romance, I will join in! Thank god there's fanfic! \o/

The second book sounds pretty horrible and clicheed, but it's probably what most people think of when they hear threesome.

Double Time looks interesting. The story has potential at least but since you say it's porn without character development I guess they didn't use it. And I mostly get bored reading PWP. A fanfic of 5k from time to time is nice but a book with a few hundred pages?

And the third book seems to be quite sugary. I recently started to explore SM fic a little. So far I totally avoided the matter since I can't get behind toppy!bastard/weak!needy!bottom pairings. And pain or humiliation kink is a squicky topic for me. However I discovered there are fics showing SM relationships with strong and confident subs. And then it gets actually really interesting because you can start exploring power dynamics. So yeah I'm searching through BDSM fics at the moment, trying to find fics with BD and DS but no SM. ^_^

Mh, maybe I will give one or two of these books a try... Thanks for the review! ♥

I think the third is what you are looking for, I have the same problem with S/M books/stories - lots of them are about the kink//pain and I want feelings and character development and self-discovery.
Also: all the yes for strong and confident subs!
