Josef Mengele was the head provider for the gas chambers at Auschwitz. His role in the experimentations was testing on twins, as young as 5 years old. Her also worked on other children, injecting ink and other substances into their eyes in attempts to change eye color. Even though internationally there were efforts to catch him and bring him to justice for his crimes, he was never arrested. After 35 years of hiding under various names in several countries, he died of a stroke while swimming.
Carl Clauberg was a respected professor and had a very successful medical career before WW2. When he arrived at Auschwitz in 1942, he was assigned Block 10 for his medical research. He injected chemicals into the wombs of women. These injections caused sterilization, and excruciating pain. He also placed men and women inside pressure chambers, and froze them to death. " Carl Clauberg was put to trial in the Soviet Union and sentenced to 25 years. 7 years later, he was pardoned under the "returnee" arrangement between Bonn and Moscow and went back to West Germany. Upon returning he held a press conference and boasted of his scientific work at Auschwitz." - Louis Bülow
Herta Oberheuser murdered children by injecting oil and evipan in to their systems. Once injected she removed limbs and vital organs. From injection to time of death was anywhere between 3 to 5 minutes, and the victim was fully conscious until time of death. Her experiments were some of the most grotesque. Oberheuser inflicted wounds similar to war injuries on inmates. She than took irritants, grass, saw dust, broken glass, saw dust, and rubbed them into wounds. She was the only female on trial for war crimes. She got a 20 year sentence, but was released early.
Karl Brandt was Hitler's personal doctor. and he was the Reich Commissioner for Sanitation and Health. He was part of the euthanasia program, and executed those who were 'useless eaters', aged, insane, incurably ill, or deformed children . They were seen as a burden to the German war machine. He was found guilty of war crimes, and was executed in June of 1948.
Thesis: The experimentation conducted in Nazi concentration camps was one of the most gruesome and horrifying components of the Holocaust.
