I was working in Flash on "The Abomination Episode 2: Speed Pigeon" last night, and making some pretty good progress, placing Dream Man's heads in sequence to show him eating a big stack of waffles (this is in the first 5 seconds of the episode). His body is not there yet, so it just looked like his head was floating above the table with the chair under it. Anyway, the image was syncing up to the sound pretty well and I was experimenting with the placement of his head to get just that little something extra. I rotated his head slightly, maybe about 10 degrees, and that's when Flash quit on me, displaying a message that said there was not enough memory to perform this operation. I tried to reopen the Flash file and got another message saying my computer does not have enough memory to open the file. It said to allocate more memory to Flash. However, OSX does not let users allocate memory to anything. It's all supposed to be automatic, and the user has no say in the matter. So the most recent version of Flash was giving me an outdated message. Great. Their designers should probably fix that some day. They could, for example, replace it with a message that says, "You're fucked and there is nothing you can do about it."
So now I don't know what to do. I closed out of all programs and tried to open, and it still wouldn't open. And I'm barely even a few seconds into the episode! How can this be? Is my computer really that deficient of memory? I might just have to drop some cash and max out the RAM.
Remember ROM Spaceknight? That guy was awesome. There is a doll of him on eBay. It looks ridiculous and deformed. It makes noise and lights up when you press a button. Crap-tastic.
So I'm going to burn the files for Wally to test on his laptop and see if he can open them. If not, I guess I'm back to square one and I'll have to start from scratch.
Scratch?
Scratch my butt!
