[Static image comes on. It's a dark circle, no wait. It's three circles. One, being a part of an eye, and two being two distinctive marks under it. Nearby is a bridge of a nose and along the top is lightly colored strait hair. The eye does not move. It continues to stare for quite some time. The image still doesn't move but a soft yet curious voice ( Read more... )

Perhaps you should lower your expectations.

[That surprised him, enough to cause a smile to stretch across his lips]

Oh?

Why should I do that?

Simply, so that you are not disappointed further in the future.

Is that what you've done?

I'm finding things are turning around rather quickly. It's a nice surprise.

Rather than lowering them, I have simply removed any expectations regarding this place. It seems quite useless to attempt to predict its happenings.

And, as you said, to be surprised by it is more...pleasant.

That's not a bad idea, at least, how you've described it to be so.

So, this place is known for frequent commotion..? Is there a reason for that?

It has served me well during the time that I have stayed here.

The answer to that question is known by no one here, it would seem. A "test," perhaps.

It's known to no one of your knowledge...

Quite an odd test.

Where is "here?"

That is true-- the natives of this place, then, would possess such knowledge, though the likeliness of their revealing it to their subjects is quite low. As experimental material, whose use here seems to be little more than to "survive," it only makes sense that we would be allowed so little information.

However, we do know simple things about this place...Discedo, it is called.

I can see why you have dropped your expectations. Fascinating, it all sounds, when you do so.

An experiment or the premise to something else, I wonder?

Dis-ce-do. So, I'm no longer in China. That confirms quite a few things.

May I ask for your name? I'm known as Shinkohyo.

I find it quite fascinating, watching the way these raw materials here cope with what happens. One might wonder if that is their reason for all of this...

My name is Huey Laforet.

It could very well be. After all, I wouldn't mind watching them myself... but it seems I'm missing a friend of mine who made watching things a bit easier.

Pleasure to meet you. Your insight has been most informative, to say the least.

It is not an entirely difficult task, with how simple communication here is. Though, that "friend" of yours...how is it that they are able to help you?

This is rather easy to use, even with my attire as it is.

Hm? Kokutenko? He's my riding beast. With the aid of his flight, thousand-mile sight and thousand-mile hearing... we find many things to watch together. He can be a bit in-tim-ida-ting, though.

That does indeed sound impressive...a shame, then, that he is unable to assist in that. Even moreso because with such abilities, perhaps even those scientists could be easily located.

Another has already mentioned these Sci-en-tists.

Even with Kokutenko's abilities, who would say they'd be so easily recognized? Is there some feature about them that... stands out?
