Summer mix!: Sound of the Good Times, pt. beach
(Look, no condiment pun this year! Ahahaha. Mind, this is pretty much only because I stole both title and partial track pool from another half-planned mix, snerk...)
Er part one of three, because apparently not even summer mixes are safe from my flights into high-concept fancy! XD; Ideally the time split on the parts would have been ~ 30/40/30 mins or about, but inevitably that was not to be. (I am as long-winded in my mix-making as I am in my prose!, hahaha.) This part: 1h of music for chilling at the beach in the bright midday sun; thoroughly mixed genres.

In completely other news: there's somehow something very strange about getting into, you know, THE ORIGINAL SLASH PAIRING, omg. At least getting into it a decade into one's slasher's career, ahah. I totally managed to dodge the event horizon of reboot!Trek -- I liked the film okay, but I didn't get any kind of fannish impulses from it* -- but the thing is, reboot!Trek has inevitably lead a lot of people to TOS, and there've been, y'know, EPISODE REVIEWS and stuff, and before I knew it I was acquiring dvd sets and JESUS CHRIST HOW HOOKED AM I? Also: crushes. SERIOUS crushes. <3 <3
(For full disclosure, I actually grew up on Trek (the movies! Next Gen! :D!); it wasn't until the mid-late 90s that I turned to the Star Wars side of the Force. Never saw more than a handful of TOS eps before, though, due mainly to lack of easy opportunity.)
At least this time it wasn't yet another Yuletide-qualified fandom, ahahaha.
*) I actually need to post more extensively about this, sometime when I don't need to be SLEEPING, omgself. Actually, I need to do a wholesale personal fandom retrospective, because I've been wanting to for a fair while, and it'd sort of slot nicely into the framework of that. :D
