Earn a Character Single
Overview
You may have seen activities allowing you to adopt characters at other TCGs - in Credits, instead of adopting characters, you get to earn their character singles instead! Not only that, your character single will come with special privileges which you can enjoy in the game. There's a lot to read in this post, and you have to be prepared to work for your character single, but the rewards - special privileges, and the chance to be the sole owner of your favourite character single - are fantastic. Character singles or character image songs refer to songs that are not heard in the show but are sung by the characters' voice actors/seiyuu. The songs are sung as though the characters themselves are singing it.
✘ What generally qualifies as a Character Single:
- Singles containing character image songs
- Entire albums containing character image songs
- Individual character image songs from albums. These are acceptable only if the image songs have individual images [eg: CD booklet images featuring the character].
- Character songs that also double as covers of existing songs
✘ What generally will not be accepted as Character Singles:
- Insert songs sung by characters and aired in the series. These are only acceptable as puzzle decks.
- Individual character image songs from albums that do not have individual images [eg: no booklet images]. Please consider claiming the entire CD instead.
✘ Please take note that the above guidelines are very general and are not meant to apply to all cases. The important thing to make sure is that the Character Single you want to apply for has a relevant image. Since character singles are so varied, do not hesitate to ask us if you're not sure about applying for certain character songs in this thread .
✘ Each character single can only have 1 owner, so when a player has applied for the album sheet of Character Single V, no one else can apply for Character Single V.
✘ Check the Character Singles page on the site to see which character singles have been applied for and earned! You will not be able to apply for the singles shown on that page.
✘ You can only apply to work on earning 1 character single at a time. You can choose to quit in the middle of doing your tasks but you will have to start all over.
✘ If you change your mind about the album sheet and the privilege you are currently working on and decide you want to switch to an album sheet for a completely different single with a different privilege [or a different single with the same privilege], you are allowed to do so! You will have to start all over with the tasks as your progress will be counted from the day you apply for your new single. Please be reasonable about it and don't end up changing your album sheet every month!
✘ Activity checks will be done once every two months - if you have shown zero progress during these two months, I will check if you are still interested. If you do not give a positive response by the third month, the single will be opened up to the community and you lose any progress made.
✘ If you go inactive while working towards earning the character single, the single will be opened up to the community once you have been removed for inactivity. You will lose any progress made and have to start from scratch if you choose to rejoin.
✘ Character Singles are NOT tradeable and NOT transferrable. If a player quits, their Character Single will be opened up to the community again. Also, the privileges of the Character Singles are only available to their owners.
Album Sheet
When you first apply to work towards earning the single, you will receive an album sheet, which looks like this:
There's a checklist of tasks which you have to complete - this will be explained in greater detail in the next section. Your name will be on the top right hand corner, and the fee you have to pay in stars is in the bottom right hand corner.
There're boxes on the album sheet - these boxes are for you to put your stickers on. Every time you complete a task, you'll have to report to this post for your sticker(s). Completing all the tasks will earn you your stickers which you have to put on your album sheet. You will need to present your completed album sheet with all the stickers in the boxes here and pay the fee to get your character single.
Tasks
The hard part of earning your character single is that you have to complete 6 tasks. As mentioned above, each task you complete will earn you the stickers to put on the album sheet. Every time you complete one [or more] task(s), return to this post and comment to receive your sticker. Once you have gathered all 6 stickers, comment again with your completed album sheet [with all the stickers on it] to earn your character single.
✘ Tasks will require you to start from scratch. To elaborate, this means that you'll have to garner another few deck masteries/leveling/game rounds/etc for them to count towards your task completion. So if you mastered 3 decks beforehand and have to complete a task to master 5 decks, you have to master 5 decks. If you already maxed out your deck donation limit in May, and applied for your Character Single in June, then you'll have to max out your deck donation limit again for it to count. All donation limits have to be maxed out after your album sheet application for it to count towards your task completion. This does not apply to your fees - they will be paid out of the total stars you have, so you don't have to worry about gathering even more stars.
✘ For game round tasks [eg: participate in # game rounds], any combination of games is fine. One game post counts as one game round.
✘ For game round tasks, only game rounds where you obtain cards from count towards your task completion. I'll be using your activity logs to check for task completion, and since players tend to record game rounds in their logs only when they have obtained cards from them, it's easier to check. Links to individual game rounds are not required, so please be honest!
✘ For game round tasks, as long as you receive your game prizes after your application, I'll let it count towards your task completion.
✘ If it is not specified, the masteries used for 'mastered # decks' can be any combination of regular, special and puzzle masteries. Obviously if it is specified, you have to master whichever types of decks the task requires you to master.
✘ For tasks that ask you to obtain cards/tickets/stamps, you will NOT be required to turn them in. You can keep them.
✘ For tasks that ask you to spend tickets or stamps, only ticket/stamp-to-cards exchanges count towards the tasks. If you change tickets/stamps to stars, these exchanges do not count!
✘ The tasks for the nicer privileges were planned in such a way that it'll take you a longer time to complete. So if you were asked to "donate 9 decks", it doesn't mean you can donate all 9 decks in 1 month - you still have to follow the monthly limits.
✘ You will be asked for proof of completion - please provide links to your activity and trade logs. We won't ask for links to individual comments, so please be honest!
Fee
Besides completing 6 tasks, you also have to pay a fee - the fee is paid in stars.
✘ Unlike tasks, you do not have to gather stars all over again to pay your fee. They will be paid out of the total stars you have.
✘ The fee can be paid at any time after you apply to work towards earning a Character Single.
✘ The fee must be fully paid at one go. It's less confusing for everyone this way.
Privileges
If earning your favourite character single isn't an attractive enough perk, the character single will come with nifty privileges which you can enjoy in the game. There are currently 15 privileges you can earn - all these are detailed in this massive list of privileges.
✘ Take note that some privileges are one-off, while others are permanent. Be sure to read the list carefully.
✘ A player can only earn each permanent privilege ONCE. You cannot apply for the same privilege the second time round with a different Character Single.
✘ For one-off privileges, there is a limit in place. To avoid the situation of players applying only for easy one-off privileges just to get their Character Single asap, one-off privileges can only be re-earned after the limit reset. For example, if you have applied for Donate a Special Deck and wish to apply for it again, you have to wait until the head mod posts an announcement about one-off privilege limits being reset on credits_tcg. Once the announcement has been made, any player can go and apply for the one-off privileges again. One-off privilege limits are currently reset once every 2 months.
✘ Each Character Single can only come with ONE privilege. If you want two different privileges, you'll have to apply for the second privilege with a different Character Single.
✘ Unless specified otherwise, you must post your Character Single together with your comment at the respective posts to enjoy the privilege. So if you want to use your 2-extra-freebie-slot privilege, you'll have to include your character single in your comment when you post to the freebie post. If you don't do so, we will assume you have no privilege and give you the normal rewards.
✘ Privileges are not stackable. You can only use 1 privilege at a time. So, say you have the privilege to earn stars from game rounds and the privilege to earn extra cards from game rounds, you can only use either or. You cannot use both at the same time.
