I finally got around to trying French Toast: Round 2. It went a little better than last time. It wasn't pretty, but at least it tasted like french toast. I think working with dry bread helped. (The recipe I followed this time started with drying the bread in the oven on low temperature.) Not sure I'll be doing french toast again any time soon. I have a feeling it is the type of thing that you just need to keep practicing at, refining the technique. And I don't like french toast enough to make it worth my time to keep trying at it.
