Alright, you wanted pictures, you got em! (And by you, I mean Pappi.)

Admiring the ocean

Admiring Aadyeniel

The surf was up

Friday I picked up Aadyeniel from the airport. She was nearly the first off the plane, I was quite presently surprised by that. From the moment we got out of the airport to when we got to the hotel, she was looking around at everything with fascination.

Saturday we did a quick breakfast in the hotel at their free breakfast buffet. (It wasn't really that bad, actually. Not great, but not bad.) Then we went to the beach.

I was a little worried about the weather and it raining again, since it was raining late Friday, and was supposed to be raining again Saturday. But aside from being a little cold it wasn't so bad. The ocean was very active, but I was expecting this as I had seen warnings about the tide on the news. The first beach we stopped at was flooded from the river that flows out to it so we couldn't actually get to the beach.

So we went up the coast a bit and found a different beach, and walked down to the sand. As soon as we got there, I noticed the breaking wave was coming right for us, so I dodged out of the way. She wasn't quite so quick and wasn't expecting the waves to come quite so far up the beach, that her feet were soaked. She couldn't understand why it was called the "Pacific" ocean after that. For lunch we ate at the aptly named Miramar Beach Restaurant which is at Miramar Beach.

After the beach we went to San Francisco and drove around a bit, as well as walked around in Golden Gate park. When we got in the car to leave, less than a minute after we got on the road again, it finally started raining. By that time, we were on the way to my parents house though, and had no further plans to be outside.

The visit with my parents went quite well. I'm not sure what else there is to say about that.

Sunday we had to check out of the hotel, so couldn't just sit around like we wanted to. For breakfast I took Aadyeniel to the Original Pancake House, a favorite place of mine for breakfast. Then we went to a park near the bay and strolled around a bit, watching the planes coming in to the San Jose airport, as well as someone at the park flying a model plane. The weather was, once again, great.

Later we stopped by Laser Quest for a few games of Air Hockey, since Aadyeniel keeps claiming to be so good. The first game was close, but she ended up winning 6-5. Then she won with a score something like 7-3, and I won the third game with a score of 7-2.

After an aborted attempt to stop by a local shopping center (That pesky Christmas shopping season we both neglected to remember it was) we ended the day with a dinner of Sushi before I had to drop her off at the airport.

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. It didn't feel like it just slipped by uneventfully like most weekends do. I felt like I got out there and lived life, and had fun at it. In fact, it feels like it was more than just a weekend, maybe more like a week together. Yet at the same time, it was not dragging on, it was one wonderful thing after another, and it didn't feel rushed either. The weekend left me feeling refreshed and happy, not worn out. If this is what it is going to be like spending time with Aadyeniel, I am really looking forward to it!
