she clutched her book
under her right arm tight
as she ran for the station
to make the bible study
at 8 o'clock friday night.
they called her a prophet
but shes got no confidence
and she says "what am i to do with this?"
while her cigarette burns into her fist.

and i believe her convolution
is something that will overtake her
as the ants build a great city
that water must get in from somewhere
