Green Thumbs, Linguistics, and Packing Tape

I thought I would take a break from studying to update for REAL again. I was paging through old journals and I realized I never really wrote in them anymore and then I realized, "Hey, wait a minute. Since Fall of 2001 the majority of my journaling has been ELECTRONIC. It hasn't really STOPPED." Not sure if I like that though.

I discovered today that my linguistics teacher knows me by name. This is PROBABLY not a good sign considering half the time I'm falling asleep in her class and the other half I'm updating my planner, reading, or doing all manner of things NOT to pay attention. Yeah, can't be good...

In the world of "not good" goes Nicole's vine. I'm condo-sitting for Nicole this summer. Every week or so I make a mail run, water her plants, all that good stuff. And somehow, over the course of this summer, a single, solitary vine escaped me. You see, Nicole put a trellis up before she left for Kentucky this summer. She then planted a vine that was supposed to grow and wind its way up the trellis to create a secluded garden on the side of the condo. A nice idea in theory. Now, take that nice idea and add in the fact that leaving me in charge of any living, photosynthesizing plant is a BAD IDEA, let alone one with a mind of its own. Did the vine grow up the trellis? No. Before I realized what was happening, the vine grew around the cable for her water meter, nearly choked several plants, and got itself in a tangled mess. It looks like shit. And it's all my fault. Not to mention I can't get it OFF of the water meter cable...

The good news is Marc and I started packing today. Thanks to boxes from Gators Plus and the Independent Florida Alligator, good for packing material if not reading...
