Life, or something like it

Well, seems like it has been forever since I've updated, probably because it has been forever. Anyways, this past weekend was awesome. I went out to visit Rural Studio. I figured since I was going to be living out there next semester that I should at least see what I was getting myself into. Found out that this is going to be an amazing experience. I'm definitely going out into the middle of podunk Alabama, and though some may find it really odd, I'm very excited. Newbern is literally one of those towns that if you blink you'll miss. There are only 4 buildings in town, and one is the fire station that was just completed (also the first building built in town in about 100 years, not lying). My studio will be this old decrepit (sp?) barn and I will live in an eery old home. At night you can sit out in the yard and look at the stars, the only noises you'll hear are some crickets which are usually drowned out by the moo-ing of the cows. Haha, guess I'll really be at cow college. The greatest part is that it wont feel like school. I'll be right in the thick of it all, getting my hands dirty. I'll be building a house, making a real impact on someone's life. I love that its my education, a real learning experience for me. Like this weekend, haha, I learned how to use a freakin blow torch, that was crazy awesome. I can't wait for next semester now. Just sucks that Jason will be all the way over here in Auburn.
