2. Do you remember the first time you heard this song?
Hmm... not really. I do remember seeing the music video though... and it wasn't as impressive as I think they could have done it. And I sort of envisioned a new story in my head (I'm always guilty of that). But I have no clue when this was.
3. Do you have any special memories associated with this song?
Nope, not really.
4. Do you see anything in your head when you hear this song? Colors? Images? A story?
Sometimes this song makes me think of "Princess" only in a sort of tragic past-tense. Because... in "Princess" Kamijo compares hsi princess to a flower and vows to protect her, and I guess in a way I could see "Flower" as being about a person who could not cherish his princess until after he had lost her. Well anyway, I guess I think of flowers and princess when I listen to this song, haha (and of course I'm relating this to Versailles just to beat csg_dear4life at her own game! Muahahahaha!)
5. What is your favorite section of the lyrics?
I suppose this part is my favorite:
At the end of my sadness, I found it at last
I held the flower named "you" close
The love overflows and it overwhelms me…
It's the last verse. I guess I just like the power of this conclusion, the idea that he's finally found what he's looking for and dies overwhelmed. Not that I want anyone to die. It's... a powerful statement. But I also really loved the imagery used, like in this verse:
Even if I repeat the sin that will never be forgiven
and descend to hell, my body burning
It's okay if you're there giving me a smile
6. Tell everyone why they should listen to this song right now.
Because it's pretty :)
No, it's got a lot of emotion and beautiful imagery in it, so I think that there's lots to be appreciated.
